About the Project
I had to composite a how-to video demonstration about a topic of our choice we had to design an opening title sequence that compliments the elements and theming of the video. The final result was all produced and edited in Adobe Effects to highlight the key components of animation principles such as:
Storyboard
When the time came to develop the storyboard for the title sequence I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but I wasn’t certain whether I be able to pull it off or make it look graphically pleasing to the audience. As the storyboard got reviewed and critiqued by my peers, I realized that a d20 die would be a little weird so I decided to take my idea back to the sketchpad and rethink the whole camera movement and assets.

Asset Creation
When it came to designing my assets for the title sequence I decided I wanted to go with a flat vector illustration with slight detail to make each item stand out on its own against the background. Most of my assets were either designed by me using Adobe Illustrator or by downloading free stock illustrations from Adobe Stock and bringing them all into one document and creating individual layers for assets that required a little bit of movement and depth in the scene.

Creating the Composition
As you can see in the image below there are a lot of layers that were created to compose the final composition of this project. There is a lot of tweaking between the assets creation and the keyframe placement and timing of when things should appear on the screen, and how they are going to appear and look good while doing it. Animation is not and I say this from experience an easy skill to learn it takes weeks and weeks of practice to grasp and take in all the information that is understood. Let it be known that I am professional… yet but I now have the necessary skills and knowledge to become one. This project was a challenge, but I endured it and prevailed in the end.
